Great Britsh Care Awards 2010 - Closing dates for nominations fast approaching

1 August 2010

Following  on from the enormous success of the Great British Care Awards national finals, we are delighted to launch the regional events for the Autumn of this year in partnership with the English Community Care Association and sponsored by HET Software.

Nominations are now invited for the regional 2010 Great British Care Awards details of which can be found at www.care-awards.co.uk or by clicking on the relevant links in this email.

The Great British Care Awards are a series of regional events throughout England and are a celebration  of excellence across the care sector .  The purpose of the awards are to pay tribute to those individuals who have demonstrated outstanding excellence within their field of work. This year there are 9 regional awards leading to 2 national finals for both the home care and care home sectors, to be held at a prestigious central London venue in London in 2011.

There are around eighteen awards categories available for nomination, which represent all areas of the social care sector, whether it be older people or specialist services, residential or home care. From frontline staff such as care workers and care managers to people who have made an impact in other ways such as training, IT and innovation.

The awards support a chosen charity, The Maggie’s Centre, which has sites across the country supporting people who lives have been impacted upon by cancer.  Over £500 was raised for the charity at the national finals.

In addition an auction for the Care Professionals Benevolent Fund will be held at each of the regions. The Care Professionals Benevolent Fund is the registered charity for the Care Sector and are here to support current, former and retired care professionals, by providing assistance to relieve financial hardship or sickness.

John Mayhew, Chief Executive from HET Software said,

“HET Software are proud to be the principal sponsors of the Great British Care Awards for the second year running.  Through sponsorship, HET is supporting the care industry by promoting and acknowledging the commitment and dedication of everyone who works in the care industry.”
