The Care Home Worker Award

Heman has managed to demonstrate that even in his short career within care that he is a truly caring individual. He has displayed all the qualities of the type of carer that is required within the care industry showing empathy and compassion and working closely with the residents to doubled up a relationship of trust where they allow him to positively impact their well-being. he truly deserves the recognition of a young person building a career in care.

Just demonstrated her compassion and care within her answers her empathy for others the residents she cares for and their families is shown through in her willingness to go above and beyond to make sure that a resident had a peaceful and joyful passing a true example of a caring carer.

The Care Home Newcomer Award 

Winner – Paige Lewis, Heritage Manor Ltd

Paige treats people with great care and compassion, going above and beyond in her role and treating the residents with respect and dignity. It was lovely to hear how she overcame her own barriers of working in end-of-life support and now approaches this as an honour. Also, how creative she is in engaging the residents and connecting with them.

Ella has a natural instinct for care, the judges were impressed by her humility in what she does. She has her clients at the heart of everything she does and goes that extra mile. Ella cares for all of those she is supporting in a true holistic manner. Care to Ella isn’t what she does it is who she is at the core. Well Done, Ella.

Highly Commended – Gabrielle Smith, Astar Home Care

Gabrielle shone through as someone who is humble but passionate about what she does. She is a fabulous role model for young carers, nothing will phase her, and she has a determined mindset to prove that caring is a vocation not just a job. She is a great ambassador for the care sector.

The Care Home Registered Manager Award 

Winner – Michele Figures, Voyage Care

Michele is a true advocate and ambassador for all the people she is involved with. Not only does she support her residents with innovative approaches, but she also supports her team and the wider care community. It was a pleasure to hear about her great work.

The Home Care Registered Manager Award

The Care Home Activity Organiser Award 

Winner – Katy Baxter, Coate Water Care Co. LTD

Katy has raised the bar when it comes to activities and organising for them. She brings a high degree of professionalism to the role. She is focused and knows exactly the value that undertaking and engaging residents has on their personal well-being and how they feel about themselves. Truly person-centred.

Highly Commended – Maxine Mckinlay, Anchor

Maxine has redefined what it means to go above and beyond. Through their daily actions and conversations, they uncovered a longstanding issue that others had overlooked. With just one letter, they changed the course of a person’s future, reuniting him with his family and restoring hope.

The Homecare Co-ordinator Award 

Winner – Hannah Guy, Care Compassion and Conversation 

Hannah emphasised the importance of recruiting staff who align with the company’s values and ethos, even in the face of current challenges within the social care workforce. She shared her efforts to leverage social media networks to gain insights into improving local recruitment strategies, including seeking advice from a social media expert in the North. Additionally, Hannah highlighted the company’s investment in a comprehensive well-being package for staff, which includes benefits such as blue light discounts, access to general practitioners, therapy appointments, and counselling services, as well as opportunities for enjoyable days out and meal discounts.

Highly Commended – Rebekah Jeffries- Plant, Jamcare Ltd 

Implementing three-monthly rotas has greatly improved work-life balance for care staff, enabling clients to see consistent caregivers and plan activities. Additionally, in partnership with Shropshire Council, the team is introducing a communication device for a non-verbal client, allowing care staff to better understand and respond to their needs.

The Chef/ Cook Award 

Winner – Chris Breakwell, Heritage Manor 

Chris consistently goes above and beyond to provide the highest quality of care for his residents. His dedication is evident in every interaction, as he works tirelessly to ensure their comfort, happiness, and well-being. His primary goal is to bring joy to those he supports, making a real difference every day.

Bryan is deeply committed to fostering a culture of growth and teamwork. He goes above and beyond to support both his own development and that of his team, ensuring they grow together. His dedication to creating an environment of mutual support and continuous improvement truly sets him apart as a leader.

The Frontline Leader Award 

Winner – Syed Muhammad Faisal Sam, Faizan Global Relief Foundation United Kingdom

In complete shock by the incredible things this man has achieved. What his work involves and how he educates individuals is outstanding. I was completely mesmerised by his ethos and his ongoing goals to help educate people about knife crime and drug use. This is truly valuable work that deserves to be recognised and celebrated. Absolutely incredible.

Listening to John’s journey from moving to the UK, learning to speak English and working in the care sector. He has worked hard over the years to achieve positive outcomes for the current company he is with and has been able to pass on his knowledge and expertise to staff below him to help them achieve great things as they progress. Hannah has a real passion for her role. It was nice to hear that people who are in long hospital stays have an advocate like Hannah who is able to fight their corner to ensure they have the correct and safe care which enables them to live in the community independently.

Her work has directly benefited service users, particularly those with dementia, by enabling them to remain at home longer and ensuring care is tailored to their lived experiences.

The Outstanding Contribution Award 

Winner – Vikki Pryce, Condover College Ltd

Vikki is an inspirational leader who has spent her career working within the Care Sector to develop services, staff and therapies. She works with a wide range of professionals within the Adult Care Sector to collaborate, share best practices and develop staff, resulting in positive outcomes for the young people within her services. Caroline is a dedicated and passionate admiral nurse who has spent her career furthering her understanding of Dementia care so she can support her patients, staff and relatives. She showed real empathy and enthusiasm for her role and a desire to make positive changes.
