About The Awards
Covering all of the UK!
The Great British Care Awards are a series of regional events held across the UK, celebrating excellence throughout the care sector. The awards aim to recognise and pay tribute to individuals who have demonstrated outstanding dedication and achievement within their field of work.
There are twenty-eight award categories available for nomination, representing all areas of social care. These include services for older people and specialist care, as well as both residential and home care settings. The categories recognise a wide range of contributions – from frontline roles such as care workers and care managers to those making a significant impact through training, leadership, and innovation.
The awards are fully inclusive, bringing together the statutory, independent, and voluntary sectors, as well as unpaid carers, to promote collaboration and joint working. Partnership is at the heart of the initiative, with close collaboration between care partners and local care associations, working directly with local managers and networks to further promote and support the event.

National Finals taking place on the 27th of February 2026 at the ICC, Birmingham.

The judging day
All shortlisted nominees will be invited to attend an interview with an independent panel of judges. The judging will take place on in Birmingham, usually around 6 weeks prior to the Awards. Nominees must be available to attend the judging day. The judging date and venue will be announced shortly.
Why nominate?
By nominating a member of staff or a colleague, you will be supporting their talent, innovation, excellence and commitment in social care. Nominations can be made online. Closing date for nominations is 29th of August 2025.
Who should apply?
The awards represent all areas of care and support, whether it be care homes, local authorities, fostering and adoption services or the voluntary sectors. From frontline staff such as key workers and care managers to people who have made an impact in other ways through child protection, supporting care leavers and inspirational young carers.
The gala event
All the finalists will be invited to purchase a table a spectacular gala dinner where the winners will be announced. The gala dinner will include a drinks reception, dinner, entertainment and dancing, and will be compered by Steve Walls.
